We're excited to announce the release of Koalati self-hosting for all web developers and agencies!
For freelancers and small businesses, Koalati's recurring subscription costs can be a deal-breaker, especially if they're not testing and shipping new websites every week.
We've always been aware of this from the very beginning: that's why we offer different subscription plans to match your different needs. But self-hosting can also help provide a solution to that problem.
But that's not all there is to it.
We know there are a lot of enthusiasts out there who like to host and manage their own tools. Some organizations have strict guidelines on cloud-hosted tools. Some people like to take a peek behind the curtains before committing to a new service.
With self-hosting, we aim to please all of you! We hand you the controls to your own instance of Koalati. Set it up on your own server(s), manage your own data and infrastructure, and tweak the platform's settings as you see fit!
Get started with self-hosting
We've done our best to make the self-hosting setup as straightforward and pain-free as possible.
All you need to get started is a computer or a server, some rudimentary knowledge of Docker, and... that's it.
Everything else, our self-hosting template provides!
In the self-hosting template's repository, you'll find documentation on how to set up your instance of Koalati, how to update it, and a few more helpful things such as troubleshooting tips and advanced configuration examples.
If you'd like to be guided as you set it up, you can watch our walkthrough video, where we set up an instance of Koalati on a small Digital Ocean VPS in just 4 minutes.
Learn more about self-hosting
We've updated our Self-Hosting page as well as our Pricing page to provide more information on the differences between our hosted and self-hosted offerings, as well as to guide new users toward the option that is best suited to their needs and skills.
We'd love to hear from you!
If you have any questions or feedback about our self-hosted offering we'd love to hear it!
With self-hosting being fresh out of the oven, it's bound to be imperfect in some use cases. We're here to help you through the issues and to improve both the platform and the hosting template!
To reach us, reach us on social media or via email at info@koalati.com. You can also open an issue or a pull request on our GitHub repositories if you've run into an issue or if you've got suggestions!
